A comeback Medvedev claimed his maiden trophy for over two years with victory over Corentin Moutet in the competition championship match.

The athlete, a former world number one, has experienced a difficult year, managing just one match at the Grand Slams and undergoing a difficult moment at the New York tournament.

His varied form on the professional circuit - and issues with his serving in especial - led to him exiting of the world's top 10 and eventually parting ways with former coach Gilles Cervara.

Presently training with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has consistently advanced in the recent weeks - peaking in a hard-fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over opponent Moutet.

It is his initial title following the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hardcourt from March of 2023.

Success also signifies he has achieved twenty-one championships at 21 distinct competitions.

"It's the first time I have attended a tournament with my two daughters together, so to get a title is really nice," commented tennis professional Medvedev.

"This title is in dedication of my younger daughter my daughter, because the maiden victory I achieved when my older daughter Alisa was born was for her."

Medvedev, the past champion, had been defeated in his previous six championship matches, comprising in that event earlier this year.

Medvedev's defensive approach and regular outbursts on the playing surface had caused some to doubt if his ability to play at the highest level was finished.

Yet the 29-year-old has altered his approach in the past month, making an effort to approach the net and perform aggressively, backed up by an enhanced serve.

Medvedev fought back from a break down in the first set against the difficult opponent, taking four of the final five exchanges to gain the advantage.

The competitors swapped break points in the following set before the Frenchman, striving for his initial professional victory, took control to force a third set.

He rescued four early break points in a tight final set before the champion secured a break to fifteen to serve for the match.

Appropriately, he secured the win with a point at the net area, with his opponent incapable to control a volley after over two and a half hours.
